Awesome Read: 1001 Rules For My Unborn Son

I stumbled on to a great blog tonight that many of you may know about, but I'm happy to find! Walker Lamond's Rules for My Unborn Son: Let's Get Some Things Straight Before I Get Old and Uncool. This pretty much speaks for itself. What a great idea! I am only on #40 and I can't wait to read more. Image above is from Rule #6. Love the visual. The blog is even being turned into a book releasing in November '09. Start from the beginning.

Here's a great interview with the author from the GeekDad blog on Wired.

You can even submit your own rule. You can submit them here in the comments section, too.

Happy Reading and Ruling!

Awesomely Frugal Fashion Fridays: Best Dressed.

Hey gang! Just got back from a quick shop at Super Target and had to let you know about my impulse buy that you must pick up as well. This Dark Denim Strapless Dress from Target is one of the Top 5 Best Things I Have Ever Found At Target. It's a nice dark denim, not too short, not too long, has a built-in bra thing (only my two J. Crew dresses have that and you KNOW those aren't $39.99) and can easily be dressed up or down. At $39.99, you owe it to yourself and your shoulders to sport this all spring.

Awesomely Fun T-shirts: Installment 1

It's time for a post of some of the latest and greatest t-shirts I've found online. I recently found Rumplo, which is a site featuring all sorts of designers. Very fun stuff! Some is a little bit overpriced, but some are simply worth it. Stay tuned for frequent installments of my favorite shirts from around the Interwebs.
This is amazing. Expensive but amazing! I would make out with almost anyone wearing this simply for their sense of humor. Okay that's not true, but the shirt is badass! Kiks Wolf shirt, sport it here.

Be sexy and buy this fake vest tee, here.

Okay, okay, so I appreciate a good t-shirt pun.For my Twilight girls, suck it here.

Yep. I love this and all things Lego. You do, too. Get it here.

Line it up in your closet and win. Get it here.

And finally...Sport this tomorrow at the watercooler, get it here.

Wear them with pride!

Awesomely Inspiring: The Decorated Cookie

Well, who doesn't love a good decorated cookie? Hell, even a mediocre-ly decorated cookie. Well, a Google image search landed me on The Decorated Cookie blog! This blog is awesome, and I can't wait to get in the kitchen...just as soon as this week ends, riiiight?

Here's a bit about the blogger, Meaghan. She's got a serious Cookie Resume! I've (Meaghan) been a professional cookie decorator for a decade. Until my baby girl made me stay home with her, I was the head decorator at a custom cookie shop, Bundles of Cookies. Our store was featured on the "Today Show." My cookies have appeared in "The Washington Post," "Modern Bride," "The New York Times," and "Chocolatier Magazine." My book on the art of cookie decorating, "Cookie Sensations: Creative Designs for Every Occasion," was published in 2007. Inspired by the joy of crafting the book, I started my own online shop selling cookie decorating kits, Chic Cookies.

Check out some of my favorites below. There are step-by-step instructions on how to make all of these. Bonus: Even if you (or me) doesn't get these right, there are still cookie mess-ups to be eaten. I so want to have a girls cookie party and make these cookies (and drinks)!

ELVIS COOKIES, PEOPLE!

Sonic is Awesome

I could post a million reasons why I love Sonic, but then I'm just the fatty who loves Sonic. So, I'll at least space it out...(the ice is a given. I mean please.) Anyhoo, I knew I'd be working late last night so I stopped at Sonic to power up/have a dessert for dinner with the lusciously delish Mocha Java Chiller. I've only tried the mocha and there's really no reason to stray, but I bet the others are just as great. This is a Frosty on crack. A Mocha in a beautiful blizzard. A real hug for my stomach for only $2.99. I add banana. Look out world.

Go getchu one!
Tell me, what's your favorite treat at Sonic?

Pablo, the gals on roller skates don't count. :)

XOXO,

Awesomely Easy and Classic: Campbell's Kitchen

I've seen enough commercials from Campbell's lately touting their recipes and online coupons. Yeah, yeah, I went there. Obviously I can trust Campbell's in the whole "we know our casseroles" department (see below), but they also have some ideas for really easy and inexpensive dinners.

A reminder of The Classic. (My onions never are placed this adorably perfect. Are yours?)

I made this Chicken Broccoli Divan twice in the past two weeks, first at my friend Alice's house to celebrate her new adorable baby with Alice and her hubby, Mike. The three of us ate the whole thing. Easily. I'm sure you've seen on the commercials, but there are printable coupons on the site, too. It's a no-brainer. Enjoy!
Lynn and I also tried this Beef Taco Skillet one night and while I never thought of using Tomato Soup with Mexican food, it was pretty good! How can you go wrong with softened tortillas in a casserole? Oh that's right, you can't.
Happy Cooking!
Let me know what you're whipping up on this Easter Sunday!
