How Simply Gorgeous

It's definitely time for holiday parties, and this little chignon tutorial has been all over the blogs today but still worth the 1,000th repost.

If only I had long hair, but I know a lot of you readers do. Here are the instructions for this modern timeless side chignon (of course it's by Martha) and her gorgeous red lip is courtesy of Clinique's Red Red Red. First one to try it and send me pics gets a big awesome feature on AAAD!

You Think I'm Pretty

AAAD Reader Allison posted the link to this article on Google Buzz and I think it's hilarious. Katy Perry's amazeballs hit song "Teenage Dream" starts with the line "You think I'm pretty without any makeup on" and apparently that's not the only time you might think someone is pretty. Check out my faves of the #teenagememe below.

That Is Wack.

I am loving my outfit today. Luckily I work in a casual office where anything with buttons seems fancier than the many t-shirts roaming around here. I'm pairing a very old and rarely worn button-down from American Eagle (their shirts fit SO WELL) with one of these fleece vests I love so much from Old Navy. I'm super comfy, a little sporty, warm, and semi-profesh. The vest can come off when I'm in a colder part of the building, or can be zipped up after I overeat at lunch or to prevent that awkward gaping between button holes (ladies you know what I'm talking about). Overall, perfect. I'm calling this combo of button-down and activewear "wacktivewear" and I do hope you will join me. Check out some pics below.

Oh, and since "plaid is the fedora," you'll be trendy AND wack. Just look how great this faceless Gap hottie looks.

Sidenote: can the Gap casting agents find me a boyfriennnnd? Because they sure know how to pick 'em. And I don't even see this dude's face, but trust me, I'VE SEEN ENOUGH. How awesome.

Enjoy!

NOM NOM AWESOME

Who's hungry for some fun and simple art? I spied over on Amy's fabulous Old Sweet Song blog post these sandwich prints from Dan Kenneally.

So simple. So graphic. So classic. My favorite of course is PBJ, although I do love me some banana thrown in. Check 'em all out here. It's fun to guess and even more fun to eat them.

If you like my blog, chances are you'll love Amy's. Check out all of her posts here.

It's November 2

Which means it's my half birthday (one step closer to 30!) and the big 3-0 to AAAD Reader Miss Mullins. Happy birthday, Mullins. May this be the best year yet!

Happy Day!

Oooh! Gold!

I look at ModCloth on an almost daily basis but have yet to pull the trigger. I saw a co-worker wearing an adorable and seemingly well-made dress from there and decided it might just be time to load up a cart of goodies. Shall I start with this Gold Dust Gal Dress? I'm kinda dying to get this even though the chances of looking like a gold disco ball are high to quite high.

Perhaps I could rock it like the darling Lucy Hale from PLL. via

How cute are these gals?

I love the photo background too and the styling. Can't wait for PLL to return soon! You need to catch up if you are behind!

Rock the gold!
