PS-I have been having the best time editing photos on Picnik lately. Rounded corners, all sorts of fun effects. Way more fun than Photoshop and twice as easy.

Little Miss Poppy: A Big Bloom of Awesome

Readers, meet Little Miss Poppy. Little Miss Poppy, meet my readers. I am so excited to share with you all of the awesomeness that is Little Miss Poppy, a whimsical line of floral hair accessories by my dear friend Melissa Darst.

Melissa has featured so many fantastic hair accessories in her photos of children and adults and decided to launch this line all her own. Handpicked fabrics and bright colors make me want to order these for everyone. Check them out. Who doesn't look ten times even more adorbs in one of these?

Also, Melissa has partnered with My Vintage Baby, a direct line of children's clothes. MVB has a line by Trista Sutter. To celebrate that launch, Melissa helped put together and photograph a Tea With Trista event that took my breath away.

Be sure to check out all of the photos here. They were even featured on People.com.

Congrats Melissa on an amazing launch!

A Taste Of Austin In The Big D

Austin, I love you. For your spirit, your music, your Longhorns, your lakes, and so much more. Well, while I have to wait every few months to visit you, at least now I can pretend to channel the freedom I feel there by renting a kayak or canoe at White Rock Lake. (Awesome!) Here's the info: paddlers can rent boats for an hour, three hours, or all day (the last boat of the day leaves an hour before sundown). And if you're a beginner, White Rock Paddle Co.’s instructors will show you the ropes. There's really no reason not to get out there.

Who's with me?

Crap At My Parents House

Mom, I know you read this, and I love you more than anything, but you gotta admit, there is some crap at your house. But, Mom and other parents worldwide, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Now, this amazing blog, Crap At My Parents' House, highlights some of the true gems that parents love: crap.

As my friend Wendy says, "First one to get a pic on here wins." But I am not sure you can call it winning.

(This is a vacuum cover!)

Check out even more beauts right here.

Stay tuned for my findings next time I visit Mom and Dad.

A Blue Ribbon Day For Blue Mutt

Well I definitely missed a big morning when I was on vacation! Remember the AMAZING photos that Allison of Blue Mutt Photography took of Bert? Well, here is Allison getting some GREAT coverage on Good Morning Texas last week as she shared how to get better photos of your pets.

I am so proud of Allison looking so awesome on camera and offering such great ideas. Congrats to Mr. Blue Mutt himself, Allison and Brad's (her husband and a devoted and awesome AAAD Reader) dog, Willie.

Brad did a great job as Dog Handler. As a BIG fan of Allison, Brad, and Willie, I am like a proud Jewish momma over here. So proud!

Catch the video and check out the great pics. If you are even slightly considering photographing your pet or giving that gift to someone, I can't stress enough what a fun time Bert and I had with Allison and what a treasure her photos of your pet will be!

Great people. Great job!
