Things are looking great at GAP. I recently found some great jeans in there, and apparently so has AAAD Reader Pam, as she reports, "Just had to tell you that I just bought some awesome jeans from Gap this weekend. Call me a jeans snob, but for the past 2 years I’ve only purchased designer jeans because they fit my weird frame better. But Gap recently redesigned their denim lines and streamlined the sizing to match up with designer sizes. And, their offering $20 off jeans through the end of the week.
Anyhoo, I really like the new fits (purchased the curvy style) and the washes are nice. Not to mention they are much easier on the purse strings. :)" Shop those new jeans here.
I went into the Gap today (it's really Monday as this weekend was obviously full of gymnastics greatness) and have already spotted a few items that will easily be worn up to three times a week just as soon as it's less than 95 degrees out. Is it puffy vest weather yet?
As always, Gap has great deals for cardholders and it definitely pays to open a card if you haven't. Cardholders get extra discounts on Tuesdays, so get shopping!
Thanks, Pam, and Happy Shopping!

As If There's Anything Else To Do This Weekend
The Visa (National) Championships for all things gymnastics is in Dallas this weekend. I have already hit up the Sr. Men's Prelims competition, and last night was what I've been waiting for: the ladies! You all know I'm nutso for gym, and I've had the best time nerding out already. Tonight I'm going to the Sr. Men's Finals (the muscles on these men are ridic!) and then tomorrow, AAAD Readers My Mom and Sara and I are hitting up the Jr. Women's Finals in the early afternoon. Tomorrow night is the Sr. Women's Finals, and AAAD Readers Katie and Marie will be joining us as well. I can't wait for the tributes planned for ex-Olympians, including my all-time favorite, Kim Zmeskal.
Last night, after the men's competition, I watched the online broadcast (and you can follow all the action from your sofas right here) and totally saw myself in the audience as the gymnasts were vaulting. I had on a yellow shirt. Haha.
There are a bunch of local gymnasts from WOGA competing, including the Sr. Women's 1st and 2nd place gymnasts after night one, Rebecca Bross and Ivana Hong. Go WOGA!
Without boring you all with my insanity, all I can say is, follow your dreams, kiddos!
Oh, and one last thing...remember when I met Carly and Nastia? That was awesome.
Have a GOLDEN weekend,

Fossil + Shoes = Awesome Style
I love the brand Fossil. I appreciate their watches and their affordability, but I appreciate their patterns, prints, graphic tees and jewelry even more. The apparel stores are somewhat sparse, but their website has lots of eye candy.
I'm excited to see that one of my favorite brands has just launched shoes!
Click here for the ladies shoe collection and here for the mens. They have some great styles (ahem, Zooey,) and it makes me feel like we are one step closer to fall.
Happy Shopping!

Eating For One Just Got Awesome(er?)
There are many nights that I eat at home and am too lazy to cook something fancy, so I end up either eating like a 4-year-old (i.e. my lunch today consisting of an apple and a Jello Pudding cup) in 28-year-old portions OR I end up making enough food for 4 (i.e. grilling up a pound of chicken Monday night) and realizing 4 days later that I only ate it once.
SO! I'm excited to delve into this book, Alone in the Kitchen With an Eggplant: Confessions of Cooking for One and Dining Alone, which features 26 writers and their "secret meals they make for themselves when they are alone."
This might give you a taste:
"Dinner alone is one of life's pleasures. Certainly cooking for oneself reveals man at his weirdest. People lie when you ask them what they eat when they are alone. A salad, they tell you. But when you persist, they confess to peanut butter and bacon sandwiches deep fried and eaten with hot sauce, or spaghetti with butter and grape jam." —Laurie Colwin, "Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant"
My Lean Pockets will be sad if I stray too far...maybe I'll start reading this AS I am eating a Lean Pocket, or a Jello, or a bag of Craisins. Then we can just all ease into higher-brow dinners.
Bon Appetit!

Bravo to Bravo
Bravo,
You've made my life so much more fulfilling by introducing me to the most crazy lunatics I love to hate and love to love.
For those of you out there with awesome bad taste like me, here is a great handy guide to understand NYC Prep, which wrapped up last night.
And a bonus! Bravo's best shows, animated!
And I just heard in my car on the way back from lunch that Bravo's Andy Cohen will be interviewed on NPR's All Things Considered today at 4pm Central about how Bravo has the magic formula to make amazing trash tv. I can't wait to tune in!
Thanks to AAAD Reader Amanda for the links!
TV. More fun than reading!

Awesome Sports Bra: No Longer an Oxymoron
Sorry, boys, this post is for ladies and their uniboobs only: it's time to talk sports bras. Now, I have a tendency to get a little ahem, nostalgic? sentimental? when it comes to sports bras. Translation: it's time to buy a new few after many, many trips to the gym.
Good thing I impulse bought some at Target yesterday! The C9 by Champion line is amazing. I got a cute green and navy striped one, but this bra is awesome.
So soft! So adjustable! So NOT a struggle to get on and off. So...sweat repelling.
There are a bunch of colors and I'm totally going back for more. Trust me, you, your girls, your locker-room neighbors, and even the elliptical will thank you.
Yay Target!
