Oy!

Today is Yom Kippur, the day that Jews atone, fast, and basically say I'm sorry for all the sinnage in the previous year and think about how to be a better person in the year ahead while counting down the hours to breaking the fast. Well, what better day then to post this Nice Jewish Guys 2011 Calendar? (Mom, no need to buy me this.) Not sure this is really revving my Jewish engine, but hey, a portion of the proceeds go towards
Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger.

of course, it's Yom Kippur, so we will break the fast at my mom's friend's house

Have a great weekend my friends!

It's Friday.

What a great reason to rent some Friday Night Lights tonight. And if I haven't been convincing enough, I'll just leave you with some photos of my favorite dude-who-needs-to-wash-his-hair-and-okay-i-can-help-you-lather-up-sorry-mom-i-know-you-read-this-blog-but-would-agree, Taylor Kitsch, who plays FNL's Tim Riggins.

Oh, and for your male readers, here are the hot-as-Texas-in-August ladies of FNL.

I'm currently on Season 3, episode 11. I started the series a week ago Thursday. #addicted.

Bert. The King Of Awesome.

Bert rocks. Always being tormented by Ernie and a hideous unibrow, he keeps it real. If you haven't seen the newest Sesame Street video, check it out and see Bert wearing some awesome glasses.

Also, to add to my giant Sesame Street/Muppet collection, I search every now and then on Etsy for vintage stuff. Check out this vintage Bert.

It's creepy enough to be a must-buy, especially for just 99 cents.

Also, I have posted this before, but there's no way you can watch this and NOT be instantly smiling.

B is for BERT!

SuperBright But Awesome

I am loving the boldness of this Fan The Fire dress. How cute is the back? So many fun finds at ModCloth.

In other, completely non-related news, Katie found a chicken in her backyard. Yep.

Talk About Keeping It Real

My lovely friend AAAD Reader Sara just had a baby boy named Jacob last week. That means, as a young Jewish lad, Jacob had a bris today. Well, I did have to address the awesomeness of his little new outfit he donned today.

Fabulous.

I'm Stealing This Idea

You obviously know I love me some candy. I also love things on a stick. Well, hell, look at this delicious combo: Candy Skewers!

This is an easy, just a few short steps process that is sure to be a total crowd-pleaser.

How great would these look in a vase? I have also been looking for ideas in which to use one of the adorable Martha Stewart craft punches. And you can find the twine and other great party stuff on this new find, Shop Sweet Lulu. The sky's the limit with this one. So excited.

Love on a stick!

WANT

Yes, I want a donut every morning. No, my skinny jeans don't. Good thing this Donut Handle Mug is the ultimate compromise. Hopefully I won't think this is real and delicious enough to eat like the Yankee Candle Co. Honeydew Melon candle I thought would taste as good as it smelled. I was wrong.

Off to finish my banana. Lame.

Two Delicious Side Dishes

It's not yet March, but let's get our green on. I recently made these Sautéed Brussels Sprouts and Shallots and just loved them.

Since Brussels sprouts are about as polarizing as cilantro, here's a recipe for Garlic Roasted Green Beans with Shallots and Hazlenuts that was easy and a definite crowd-pleaser.

Enjoy!
