She's Got Legs

Not gonna lie. I have not been doing much "exercising" lately. I suffered a moving injury (wow, that sounds cool) and have been trying to rest my back a little bit as I've been walking around the agency like an old woman. This was brought to my attention when the sweet 70+ year old admin assistant gave me some of her old prescription heating pads (no joke...so nice of her). Anyhoo, tonight was the night to put on my shoesies and go for it. I cancelled my gym membership. I wasn't going and I moved closer to the Katy Trail. So, that's exactly where I headed tonight. I find the Trail to be really underrated. It's paved, it's wide, it's full of good people-watching, and it's free. Easy enough, right? It felt awesome to get out there. Now accepting walking buddies! Yes, walking. That's about all I can do...although I do plan to partner it with the best pilates video out there, which I still rock on VHS.

Summer Eats

I had a few minutes of a hunger attack this morning, so I thought, "Oh, let's just make it worse by looking at a gorgeous food blog." So, after perusing Tastespotting for awhile, I thought it was time for some recipes, since I haven't posted any in a long time here. And now that it's summer, I will refrain at least for one week before posting recipes for watermelon everything. So, here's a roundup of a few desserts that I think look super delish for summer. Who wants to come over and eat?!

Even More AWESOME!

My head is exploding with awesomeness because Allison with Blue Mutt just sent me Bert's online gallery. Even more amazingness! For those of you who want to humor Bert, check out the rest of his photos from his first photo shoot. I am saying "first" because there's no doubt in my mind he will be picked up by Friskies or CatFancy or some other pet modeling agency. If not, he will no doubt get picked up by all of the neighborhood kitty ladies.

LOVING IT!

Good God, Awesome(ly Bad) TV is Back

It's Tuesday, and I am glued to my TV. Tonight is the DWTS finale, Gaga Glee, and yes, the horrible-yet-I-can't-escape-it The Hills and The City. Speaking of that bad-but-love-it TV, I must excitedly quote Lynn's blog post: "Yes, Monday nights are back. As are Chris Harrison, all the right reasons, the wine, the frozen entree, the salad, THE GIRARDS!, and of course, The Bert. Is it sad when you measure life in seasons of the Bachelor, not years? I think not." Brilliantly put, Lynn.

But anyway, who else is still watching The Hills? Even if you haven't watched it since Lauren was crying about one friend or another hurting her feelings, I know you can appreciate this: Kids Reenact The Hills. via IHeartYouBlog

HOLY AWESOME!

WOW WOW WOW! A few weeks ago, I decided to bite the bullet and have my sweet sweet Bert photographed by my lovely and talented friend Allison from Blue Mutt Photography. After about an hour of meowing and not exactly understanding how docile models have to be at times, Bert had had enough, and I wasn't sure what Allison was going to get. BAM! LOOK AT THESE!
I will cherish these forever and I am so thankful that I decided to have these taken. I can't choose a favorite.

Check out more of Allison's work: capturing Bert, and a ton of other adorable babies, on 4 legs and 2, at her fabulous website and blog. If you are thinking of having your pet photographed, go for it!

Better Late Than Never: PINKBERRY

AAAD Reader Allison and I had a fantasmical time experimenting with yet another, yet-not-just another fro-yo shop: the one and only Pinkberry. Dallas is overloaded with yogurt shops, but this is the mothership. I don't actually like yogurt that much unless it's chocolate-flavored. Their chocolate is like whoa. I'm thrilled to report and also scared for all of us that there is a Pinkberry opening soon by my office, right on Greenville Avenue. Just how many lunches can I substitute with Pinkberry? Because it's awesome!

YUM!
