Summer Nights + Movies + Cool Breeze = Awesome Change of Pace

Start popping the popcorn, and pass the Milk Duds. It's time to watch some movies outside. Tonight I am stoked go see Twilight under the stars, and with a cooler night at a pleasant 63, it sounds like simply a great night to take in a flick outside. If you're not into Twilight, tonight is also another Movies Under The Stars event at Hotel Belmont. Pack your picnic blanket and enjoy National Lampoon's Summer Vacation for free on the big screen at the Belmont Pool. Learn more about Belmont Hotel Movie Night here. I'm definitely heading there on July 1st to see Airplane.

Also, AAAD reader Lynn passed along the news of Central 214's Sunset Movie Series In The Courtyard on Sunday nights. Also free, these movies have a specially-themed meal for each movie available for purchase. This Sunday night's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is sure to be deliciously awesome. Learn more here.

Finally, the best kept secret in town...it's time to tell you about the Galaxy Drive-In Theatre. WHO KNEW this still existed? It's about 20 minutes or so from downtown, and so worth every penny of gas. Admission is only $6 and you can stay for the double feature. TWO NEW MOVIES FOR $6. $2 for children 5-11, and kiddos under 5 are FREE. HELLO! Even more spectacular is that the hamburgers are only $2 and the corn dogs $1.50.
Did I mention they have corn dogs? And mini golf? Pack up the kiddos for a night of fun. I haven't been since I got the convertible and I'm pretty much dying to go right now. It's such a throwback with the original concession videos that you just may feel like a kid again. Or at least a Sandy or a Danny.

Have fun out there!
