The Pump Energy Food company in New York "prepares fresh, nutritious food that tastes really f'ing good. We make all our food on premise. We bake our own chips, prepare our own sauces, we even cook our turkey for 12 hours." So, they made this hilarious video to get some buzz. I love the Acai part. How DO you say that?

Standing Tall, On The Wings Of My Dreams

Dudes. On NYE, over at Anne's house, we played a very fun game called The Name Game, which is like charades and Catch Phrase but with celebrities whose names you choose. ANYWAY, I could not help from laughing about my, I will say it, amazingass choice, of none other than Balki Bartokomous. Balki, making my Friday nights that much more awesome in the late 80's/early 90's (Little Caesar's also brought the magic! magic!), had such an amazing optimism, wardrobe, and accent, that I am so freaking thrilled to see these two dudes in Seattle re-create the entire Perfect Strangers opening present-day. Enjoy, my friends. Enjoy this video much more than my choice of BB was enjoyed on NYE. Apparently only a few of us were able to remember Balki and his last name, let alone act him out in 10 seconds. Ah well. Next year.

Happy Birthday To Awesome AAAD Reader Lynn

45-minutes into day two of I-Hate-You-AT&T, I am back with internet at home. Ahhh. It was feeling really 1995 up in here for way too long. Surrounded solely by books and magazines. Phew. Back to life. Anyhoo...it's time for a special AAAD shout-out to Reader Lynn on her birthday. Lynn, you are awesome and I look forward to seeing you every morning at the office, as we drink grotesque coffee and share our hopes, dreams, and complaints for the day.

Lynn's new blog is a wonderful treat. Her post on Forever 21 and its role in the lives of American young women is truly a great read. Rock that effin' sweatshirt, girl. Own this year.

YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS NOWWWWWW!

Last night I wanted to catch the new hyped-up show on MTV, The Buried Life. It was okay. Kinda inspiring, kinda manic. BUT, after that premiered another new series on MTV, My Life as Liz. According to MTV, "My Life as Liz" explores high school life through the eyes of Liz Lee, a precocious, sometimes sarcastic, always witty teenage girl trapped in a conservative Texas town. Ever the outsider, the series explores Liz's attempt to make the best of her senior year by carving out a place of her own among her more "normal" peers. While Liz's off-kilter outlook and impeccable comedic timing make her journey of self-discovery an often humorous one -- her openness and honesty allow viewers to bear witness to the truest and most tender moments of being a teenage girl.

Yeah, yeah. She lives in Burleson (home of Kelly Clarkson) and is pretty wise beyond her years but incredibly witty and entertaining to watch. There were two episodes on last night which I soaked up every second of and I was left thirsty for so much more. If you liked Mean Girls, Welcome To The Dollhouse, or anything involving Ellen Page, trust me, give this a go. I can't wait for the next ones. OH, and that being said, if you never rented American Teen, it is SO time to watch that as well.
